The journey of Supermeme.ai to #1 Product of the Day on Product Hunt
How we built in public and became the #1 product of the day!
We launched our app Supermeme.ai — AI-powered Meme Generator on Product Hunt and became the #1 product of the day for May 5th, 2022.
Being bootstrapped, a 3-month-old app, the team building this part-time alongside their full-time jobs, and considering it was my first every Product Hunt launch, coming #1 for the day on a busy day like Thursday wasn’t even in the wildest of our dreams.
Much to our surprise, we had the third highest upvotes for the day at the 24-hour mark but still bagged the #1 spot, thanks to Product Hunt’s algorithm that takes into many other factors like posted time, ignoring bots/paid service upvotes, etc.

A full disclaimer is that there are no overnight strategies/hacks that helped us get here and we more or less played a long-term game.
